What do I do with my Certificate of Completion?

A Certificate of Completion is valid for 2 years and you may want to keep a copy if there is a possibility you might be going to court in the future.

If you took the course because you were required to do so for the court purposes, you will need to provide the Certificate of Completion to either the court registry, where your family file is located, or to the family justice counsellor assisting you (if applicable). You can e-mail the certificate or provide a physical copy in-person. Please make these arrangements with your court registry.

Here is the link to the B.C. Provincial Court directory: www.gov.bc.ca/courthouselocations.

I took the course over two years ago and now I can’t get a copy of my certificate.

A Certificate of Completion is valid for two (2) years. After two years, this certificate expires and is no longer available. Participants are required to complete one of the Parenting After Separation courses again. The new Certificate of Completion is then issued and is valid for the following 2 years.
